On 22 of May 2010, the ceremony of the "Polish Opening" of the Visegrad House was held in Cape Town. The meeting with Polish society in Cape Town was organized specially on the occasion of the visit in South Africa of the Director General of Foreign Service Mr. Rafał Wiśniewski and Director of Africa and Middle East Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw, Mr. Jacek Chodorowicz. The ceremony speeches were given by the Director General, the Chairman of the Polish Association in Cape Town and the Ambassador of Poland. The cocktail gathered in many members of the Polish society from the Cape region. On the same day, in Welgemeend Manor in Cape Town, took place the concert of music of Fryderyk Chopin. The broad spectrum of repertoire, including etudes, ballades, polonaises, waltzes, nocturne, scherzos, was performed by prof. Francois Du Toit, well known artist and professor of piano at the University of Cape Town and his pupil John Ntsepe, first Black South African to get musical degree at the University of Pretoria. The concert was recognized as a high class and an important event in the "Chopin's Year" of 2010.
